MOISTURE VAPOR PRIMER – PART A Resin (2A:1B)
MOISTURE VAPOR PRIMER is a two-component, 100% solids, low viscosity, epoxy resin and hardener with excellent adhesion, flexibility, impact and chemical resistance. Because of its superior penetrating and bonding abilities, it has excellent resistance to moisture vapor from below a concrete substrate. Moisture Vapor Primer is the recommended primer to use for indoor and outdoor applications especially when going over previously sealed or painted surfaces to provide the best bond possible. Apply Roll-Top Cement or SprayCoat Cement over Moisture Vapor Primer when dry to touch, slightly tacky, or within 24 hours. Moisture Vapor Primer is also used as the clear primer and color broadcast coat for the TerraStone System.
MIXING INSTRUCTIONS: The mixing ratio for Moisture Vapor Primer is 2 parts A (resin) to 1 part B (hardener). Mix thoroughly for 3 minutes using a drill motor and mixing paddle. If too thick in colder temperatures, add up to 5-10 percent acetone to make it easier to spread. Scrape the sides and bottom of the container while mixing. Only mix the amount that can be used within 15-30 minutes. If it sits in the bucket too long, it may set up prematurely. Start by mixing only 3/4 gallons if only one person is rolling. It is best to apply Moisture Vapor Primer in temperatures of 40-90 degrees. Keep Part A and Part B in the shade before mixing for a longer working time.
APPLICATION INSTRUCTIONS: After the proper surface preparation, spread Moisture Vapor Primer thin over a dry surface using a 3/8” – 3/4” nap paint roller depending on the texture of the surface. Use an 18” roller pan, dip your 9” roller out of a 5 gallon pail, or pour a thin row on the surface and begin rolling. Stretch the Moisture Vapor Primer thin over the surface to get up to 250-350 sq. ft. per gallon. When dry to touch or slightly tacky, apply Roll-Top Cement or SprayCoat Cement in the color desired. Moisture Vapor Primer will dry to touch faster on hot days above 70 degrees within 5-6 hours and may take 8-12 hours or more to dry to touch in colder temperatures between 50-60 degrees.
